I prefer using “good enough” ammo

There's a lot of talk about how good ammo is better than what gun it's used in. Despite that I find myself still preferring to bring in "good enough" ammo instead of GOOD ammo. There's some cases where it really makes a difference and is necessary, but using ammo that can only be FIR or has to be crafted feels over the top. Most of the times if I get the jump on someone and play things right it doesn't matter anyways, you put enough rounds into someone before they can react and they'll go down. Not to mention the fact it's way more cost effective being you don't get ammo back in insurance if you die anyways. I'm curious though, does anyone else still play like this? You have access to the meta ammo or have a good chunk of the premium stuff saved up, but you still use the middle-of-the-pack stuff and find it working out for you.
