I want to start by saying I quite liked last one, and have been super hyped for the return. I think a lot of the changes to Diretide has improved it greatly to the last one. The scarecrows, while encouraging team fights, really snowballed the winning team. Creeps dropping the neutrals just makes way more sense. This one feels like a sneaky player can basically solo win if careful enough. The mounts also add a much needed speedboost equalizing all heroes. Especially noticeable for heroes with sub average movement speed.
However, I think Jakiro's Macropyre and pretty much any AoE balanced around *not* standing in it are *very* effective at killing the well guardians. Jakrio's agh not only extends the duration to 30 seconds, it makes it pure, and the golem will just stand still soaking 200 dps for a total 6k hp. I think either having golems take way reduced spell damage (not just pure) or move around a bit would solve this.
