The Witcher and Game of Thrones are my most beloved universes, so it came to no surprise when Gwent and GoT The Card Game became my two favorite card games – Gwent on the digital front and GoT on the physical one.
I'll mention that FFG stopped printing new GoT cards in 2019. Two and half years later, the meta in the game looks like the picture above. All 8 factions (Free Folk is neutral) have almost identical percentages of playrate. Meanwhile, the winrate stats look like this:
This, by the way, is a physical card game which doesn't enjoy the luxury of monthly balance patches. It simply can't. Cards are already printed. And yet this is what the meta looks like. Source
As my other favorite game, I wish Gwent reached this equilibrium with all my heart. I hope this serves as inspiration for both devs and players. We all share the same passion.
For all the players out there who love physical card games and are also GoT fans, I can't recommend enough how good this game is.
