Ever since a good friend of mine got me into this game I've been wanting to do some exploring in my Diamondback. I've been around on his carrier, and I've seen a few of the places near the bubble. I think I'd love to fly along the Distant Worlds route on my way to Elite Explorer since I've done some things but not enough to get there.
I figured I would ask the community for suggestions on their favorite things to see that are either along the route or close enough that I could drop in and see it (let's say 2k light-years at the most?). My diamondback has a good setup, it has multi-weave shielding, enough scanning equipment to grab mats where I need them, and small cargo space for special pickups, I've kitted it out to last as long as I can. I didn't go for the stripped-down version, I decided if I'm going around this route, I'd plan to have a good fuel tank balanced with a decent scoop FSD Booster and things like that. I'm in no rush, and really enjoy the exploration options in ED since I came from EvE Online which I enjoyed, but never really felt like an Explorer and ended up being more of an Arms Dealer. This game has come really far from what I can tell, and I'd like to travel the routes set out by past Commanders, with some updated sites to see from Current commanders as well.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what kinds of stuff I can do with the camera.
My Diamondback isn't 100% Engineered, and I am sure I could make the trip on less. I tend to spend a lot of time playing in the small sandbox before I jump into the big oceans.
Thanks in advance, and nice to meet you, Commanders.
Sparky.
