4Game

For the past month or so I've been playing unranked with 2 of my friends. One of them recently decided to pick up Dota 2 again. Its been 5+ years since the 3 of us played together. Our 1 buddy is basically herald (never played seriously and plays the same 3 heroes), the other is probably around legend/ancient and my addicted ass is low divine. I haven't touched ranked in years and my friends never calibrated.

The problem: We get stomped every game. Games aren't close. I look at the other team to see their ranks and most of them are Guardian and Crusader. Not a similar stack with a higher mmr player + friends. We don't mind losing, but it would be nice to have a few competitive games. So is this because there are just this many smurfs in dota or the community is just a bunch of people who've played for 10+ years?

For context when I duo queue with my friend who is legend/ancient level, we actually win a decent amount of the time verse players who are ancient/divine. At the very least the games are competitive. The problem is when we add in our friend who is a legit unranked herald we end up playing teams you'd think were training for TI.
