I have always been a MO main, but I also had an interest for SY and NG.
The factions that I like to play and those that keep me coming back are both MO and SY, and to a lesser degree NG.
Sadly… CDPR has mishandled those two factions badly in the last months.
When was the last time either MO or SY saw ANY kind of competitive play or even relevancy in the meta apart from Sir Scratch and Tunnel Drill with Collution?
(And im talking MO and SY by their own assets, not including broken cards like Renfri or Golden Nekker, because those can make even the worst deck somewhat relevant.)
Because as soon as they get somewhat relevant, people always rush to complain about how "utterly overpowered they are" to the point devs nerfed them to ground. And while yes some interactions where indeed troublesome and needed to be corrected (such as Tir Na Lía and Foglets), the thing is, CDPR only removes, restrain and takes from those factions but rarely gives.
And let's see some examples:
Viy was strong and was nerfed twice, understandable, but they also removed 1 charge of Overwhelming Hunger and that didn't need to be removed and even if it did, there is no excuse for having it like that nowadays. They took and never returned or gave something to compensate.
Relicts were strong, Mamuna specifically made Caranthir receive one of thoughest nerfs ever by restraining him to only 10p or lower MO. This made Caranthir basically disappear from the game for almost a year, only coming back when Arachas got buffed but certainly not by they improving Caranthir.
They took away most of Caranthir power and gave nothing to compensate, even when the game got past that level of power.
Talking about Relicts, they nerfed Self Eater, which was an "ok move" for the time, but once again the game has moved WAAAAAY too far from that power level when Relicts released, the power creep never stops and the cards they nerfed where never reversed even when a 6power self eater wouldn't hurt anyone in the current state of the game.
And one last example (I could go on and on but I need to finish somewhere), and the most outrageous for me: They are QUICK and WILLING to hotfix ANY strong interaction MO has.
Gernichora released as a strong card not only because you could copy it with Caranthir, but also because she converts and resets her power (or used to) and you could basically play her twice. Strong? Yes, needed a hotfix?: Perhaps, but the thing is: They only do that to MO, have you noticed? When was the last time they hotfixed other strong or absurd interaction that wasn't MO?
Come on think of one, any comes to your mind? No? Well, because there is not a recent one at all.
Gernichora strong: Hotfix
Foglets strong: Hotfix
Scratch a lot strong: Hotfix
But what about spamming 3 or more Renfris in one game? Oh that's totally fine, we can surely wait a month or two for it to get fixed.
Or maybe Milva movement dominating the game to the point everyone complained about it as well? Oh, you can wait a month mate.
Or SK warriors literally being hated by everyone for having an unhealthy playstyle an immune unit that can reach almost 30 power on deploy and have been meta relevant for the past half a year?! What do they do? NOTHING.
The issue is not them hotfixing MO or MO being weak and not receiving relevant cards or buffs, the issue is THEY DON'T GIVE MONSTERS THE SAME TREATMENT AS THE OTHER FACTIONS. And that's where Syndicate comes back in, they RARELY see any kind of relevance, and when they do is because they have a card that is carrying them to not suck, recently it was Tunnel Drill and Candle, both of them received nerfs so severe that forced Syndicate OUT OF THE GAME AGAIN.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
First I'd like to say I absolutely love this game it's quality. Basically I first…
