The boss battles in this game are so much fun. After botching The Elder (he summoned a dozen greydwarves, including shamans and brutes) which left me fleeing for my life and barely surviving, I was really nervous about taking on bonemass.

I upgraded my iron mace and banded shield, brewed a ton of poison and health potions, cleared the area of abominations for the new armor (and got to practice positioning and parrying large enemies), and flattened the battle field (including building a bunch of stone pillars around the altar, so it was easy for me to get away while holding bonemass back). I also built a stack of bonfires in the arena so bonemass would set himself on fire regularly.

The biggest frustration was not being able to see his swipe attacks coming when I was in the middle of his poison cloud. But the reduced boss health regen update seems to have made things more manageable.

Off to the mountains next once my frost resistance potions are ready! I f-ing love this game!
