You might have opened this expecting a rage post but quite the contrary! I’ve used Yrden many times before (not so much now) but I am starting to see a huge prevalence of the card this season. It’s basically a “lol I win” card against any deck with row boosts.
I’ve just played three games with harmony, dwarves and uprising witchers, had a 30+ point lead up to the final card only to get crushed by Yrden and lose by a couple points. All three consecutive games.
My question: Is this the kind of card that is healthy for the game?
Gwent is already shaped in a way that means certain match ups have a clear winner before the game begins. I’m not sure a relatively cheap neutral card should be available to every deck as a “yrden go brrr” for their final play.
I’ve played too much now to get salty about a couple of losses but it did make me think about how polarising the card is. Would it ever get reworked? How would you do it? Does it need more provisions?
I enjoy using different decks every time I play but for this season I might have to stick with Skellige! Cheers for reading.
