Lower tier weapons use less stamina.
Most people use the atgeir primarily for the stagger effect of its secondary attack, with the primary being a largely optional finishing move.
The stagger is the same for all tiers of the atgeir, and all levels of upgrades.
Much of the drawback to the atgeir is its high stamina use for the secondary.
Is there much reason not to use a fully upgraded Bronze Atgeir throughout the whole game? The later ones can of course kill a bit faster, especially with primary attacks, the fully upgraded Black Metal one being able to one shot lower level enemies (Meadows and Black Forest fodder), but in its main role, the Bronze keeps enemies off of you for longer by using less stamina.
With the Bronze, I successfully fended off packs of Wolves and Fuling patrols (to include starred individuals), and I didn't feel that my weapon was holding me back. Has anyone else tried this and if so do you notice much of a difference?
