After finally beating Mistlands this past weekend (waited for it to go live and started fresh) I've come to the conclusion that despite it being very fun, they crammed way too much into the biome.
The big one being magic. Then I began to think back to my time on the the Plains before Mistlands and I honestly had a hard time remembering what really came with it. Sure there is Black Metal weapons and linen armor, which are really just another tier of the same Iron stuff. There is also the tar pits which unlock a handful of building items. But otherwise there are no dungeons, no light armor, nothing really in the term of game mechanic introductions like the other biomes have.
After chatting with some friend we came to the idea that it would make much more sense to introduce magic in the Plains for a number of reasons:
Curious on everyone else's thoughts on this. I loved the Mistlands and magic as a whole, I just feel as a whole game experience things feel very late game heavy in terms of game mechanics right now.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
