I made a video to break it down fully: https://youtu.be/CniL2xltCyA
But here’s the basics. It’s cheap AF for a potential burst heal that’s literally better than a mek and almost twice as good as arcane boots when you have full or close to full charges. A full wand gives 300 health and mana. And it’s a 13 second cooldown so you can usually get it off more than once per engagement/fight.
Flat heal is basically a broken mechanic that can essentially be considered as effective HP (eHP) as long as you can get it off before you die.
It’s slot efficient, usually good in lane, great for pushing your hero to the limit, and did I mention it’s CHEAP. It also ensures you have mana to get that last spell off late in a fight.
The only time you should fully skip wand below like 4k/5k mmr is certain mids who don’t need it for their lane and can scale quickly into strong items (think Lina/lesh/sniper), and certain carrys who don’t focus on skirmishing for the first 20 mins. And even then, a casual stick for the lane can still be good.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
