Max Blink without Exact Range, Possible?

Hi,

Maybe this has been discussed earlier but couldn't find any other thread on this.
I was watching one of the tutorials from Khezu and noticed something.

Tutorial Link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHI3Zss–lY&list=PLkVCxtbV-2n0RfaIHL2N4tniAJztxflX1&start=154s

Start from 154 Seconds.

He is explaining how overblinking can cause you to jump short and miss the Roshan pit from a specific point. At first go, he blinks correctly by displaying the blink range. But second time, he intentionally overblinks to display short range but to my surprise he still blinks max range (which should not happen). From his mouse cursor you can clearly see that he overblinked yet he gets max. range.

Am I missing something here? You views are most welcome.

Thanks,
A Noob dota player.
