Me and my friend’s proposed script for an Among Us movie!

Me and my friend have been going back and forth workshopping an idea for an Among Us TV movie. The basis is, the starship Skeld is a starship with 10 cremates onboard, each of which is assigned a specifically colored uniform and specifically colored space suit to describe their role. All characters will all have first and last names (e.g. Red will be “Mark Redding” or something like that) that are used in the film and they won’t be referred to as their colors, but for the sake of simplicity I’ll just describe everything using their colors only.

We’ve cast actors as all of the roles that I believe to be realistic “gets” for what might be a sci-fi TV movie. Mostly TV and genre actors, no Tom Cruise or Will Smith or anything like that.

Red (Antony Starr): The Captain of the Ship, who appears charming and dashing at first but has a dark side. Always hits on new female crewmates.

Blue (William Jackson Harper): The head engineer of the ship, mostly stationed in Reactor and Engines. This is his last mission with the crew before accepting a job at the academy, and is training his younger sister Cyan (Zendayat) to take over his role on the ship.

Orange: (Danny Trejo): The toughened weapons specialist an of the ship, stationed in Weapons. A mostly silent badass type.

Yellow (Michelle Rodriguez): The ship’s electrician. Stationed in Electrical, she is constantly warning other crewmates to leave her alone and never go into the electrical room because it’s dangerous (with all the loose wires and all).

Green (Ken Watanabe): The kindly old scientist who serves as the ship’s biologist and alien flora and fauna expert. This is his last mission with the crew before retirement and is training his former Academy student Lime (Jake Cannavale) to take over his role on the ship. He is the one to provide information on the parasites and give lifeform readings.

Purple (Kimiko Glenn): The ship’s bubbly and kind head of communications, stationed in comms.

Brown (Haley Joel Osment): The ship’s surly and alcoholic head of security, stationed in the security room and mostly watching the cameras while drinking.

White (some lady in her 40s): The ship’s medical doctor, stationed in MedBay.

Black (Reid Scott): The ship’s cocky pilot, stationed in Navigations

Pink (Ashley Benson): The ship’s co-pilot, also stationed in Navigation and has an on-again off-again romance and flirtation with her co-pilot Black.

The film takes place in the future, and opens with Cyan (Zendaya) and Lime (Jake Cannavale) graduating from the Academy and being welcomed aboard the UEA (United Earth Alliance) starship the Skeld.

Cyan is there to replace her older brother, Blue as the ship’s main engineer, and Lime is there to replace his mentor and former professor Green as the ship’s biologist and alien flora and fauna expert. They are doing one last mission as a team with Cyan and Lime onboard as apprentices before Blue and Green move on to replace them.

We meet the team through Cyan and Lime’s eyes as they’re being introduced to the crew of the ship. The arrogant captain Red insists on being the one to personally guide Cyan through the ship and introduce her to the rest of the team, clearly flirting with her, which irritates her protective older brother Blue and also her friend and classmate Lime who has a crush on her.

The team is responding to a distress signal being called in deep space in what they think will be a routine mission.

When they finally arrive at the ship that called a distress signal, they find that it has been overrun by alien parasites that have taken over the bodies of most of that ship’s crew. There is a fight sequence where the Skeld crew hold off the infected zombie crewmen of the ship and kill most of them. At one point, Lime is seemingly cornered by multiple parasitic crewmen, but the weapons specialist Orange jumps in and sacrifices himself to let Lime live, blowing up a few of the parasites in the process. Lime is saddened but relieved…only to reveal that one of the parasitic crewmen survived, and spears him through the chest. (This is a shocking moment because Lime was set up as one of the main characters throughout the first 20 minutes of the movie, only to get killed off instead) The rest of the crew fights off the rest of the parasites, blows up the infected ship, and goes back to the Skeld in peace. They have captured one of the dead parasites for biologist Green and medical doctor White to study.

However, unbeknownst to them, the two surviving parasites escape and latched on to the hull of the ship, and they crawl into the ship through the vent system where they bond with and infect two of the crewmates. Leaving the ship with 8 crewmates and 2 impostors infected by the murderous parasites.

The ship holds a funeral for Orange and Lime and ejects their dead bodies into space before retiring to their quarters.

We cut to the pilots Black and Pink in Navigation. Everyone else is sleeping. The ship is set to auto-pilot and they’re sitting there discussing their relationship. At one point, Black hears a weird noise and goes to check it out, and then is suddenly impaled through the chest by an offscreen monster and killed.

Cut to: Red lights flash. The emergency button has been pressed. We see Pink, stabbed and seriously injured, has pressed the emergency button. Several crewmates get up from their beds to investigate. Crying, Pink tells all of them that a strange creature, likely one of the leftover parasites, broke into the cockpit and murdered Black while also injuring her. She is put into Dr. White’s care in MedBay while the rest of the team investigates.

Green analyzes the dead parasite they took from the infected spaceship to the rest of the remaining crew (Red, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, Purple, and Brown). He reveals that this parasitic species infects hosts and then does a lifeform reading that says two of these creatures are alive onboard the ship…and could have infected anyone.

Just then, we cut to MedBay. White is taking care of the injured Pink. Suddenly, in an Exorcist-style moment, Pink springs to life, completely uninjured. She was faking her injury, and brutally kills White. She mutates into a monstrous form and the rest of the crew has to fight her and get rid of her. She sabotages the reactor, and then injures Blue’s hand. The injured Blue has to instruct his unprepared sister Cyan on how to fix the reactor. Cyan fixes the reactor just in time with Blue’s instructions, and the team bands together to throw the now monstrously infected Pink through the airlock into deep space. Just before she is ejected, Pink extends a tentacle that latches onto Yellow. Yellow holds on for dear life onto the airlock as its ejecting them while the monstrous Pink grabs onto her leg. Purple tries to grab Yellow’s arm to keep her safe, but Yellow decides to let go of her arm and sacrifice herself for the team and let go to make sure they’re rid of the monster.

Now only Red, Blue, Cyan, Green, Purple, and Brown remain. Green does another lifeform reading and says that while they indeed caught Pink who was the first parasite/impostor, there is still one infected cremate among them.

Red starts to go crazy with paranoia. He insists that the remaining six crewmates pair up to make sure they catch the remaining infected person. Brown and Purple pair up, and then Red insists that Cyan pairs with him. Blue is upset by this, wanting to be paired with his sister, but Red tells him off and says he will be the one with Cyan while Blue is paired with the old doctor Green.

Purple is paired with Brown, who is intently watching security footage. The lights get sabotaged and Blue goes to fix them in the chaos. When the lights are restored, we see Purple has been impaled and killed (which Brown was too distracted by security footage to notice).

Red furiously accuses Brown and says it must be him, since Brown was paired with Purple who is now dead. Red goes insane with fury and demands that the rest of the crew follow with his orders to kill Brown, who is pleading for his life and insisting it isn’t him. The rest of the team isn’t sure but don’t want to disobey the captain Red, as he handcuffs the sobbing Brown and sends him to his death via airlock.

After Brown’s ejection, Green does another lifeform reading and says that it couldn’t have been Brown since the lifeform reading says there’s still one parasitically infected cremate left. Red goes into a mad rage and accuses Blue of being the remaining Impostor. The remaining crewmates Blue, Cyan and Green realize that it’s probably Red himself who is the remaining impostor and mutiny against him. Red gets a gun and starts to chase Blue around, ranting and raving. Cyan and Green try to stop him and contain him but he overpowers them and runs after Blue, who has escaped into electrical. Red attempts to kill him, but Cyan catches up and pushes Red into some exposed wires, electrocuting him and causing him to pass out.

Blue, Cyan, and Green eject Red’s passed out body through the airlock. Green does another lifeform reading, and says that it must have been Red because there are now no parasites remaining on the ship.

The siblings Blue and Cyan sigh in relief. But after a moment, Cyan realizes something and whispers it to Blue – Red had gone mad and needed to be stopped, but he couldn’t have been the person who killed Purple. During that entire period of time when the lights went off, Red clutched onto Cyan’s arm and they were never separated. And then Blue realizes that when he was paired with Green, he did leave him alone for a short period of time to go fix the lights.

They nervously turn to Green and ask if he can show them his tablet so they can see his lifeform reading themselves. said. Green repeats that there’s no reason to and that there’s nothing to worry about. When they insist on seeing it anyways, the doctor’s kind face drops and becomes a menacing scowl.

The siblings slowly start to back away from him. Realizing the gig is up, Green’s monstrous tentacles come out and he gives a sinister smile. He jumps into the vents, which confuses them, but a moment later the alarm sounds that the reactor has been sabotaged again. They run to go fix it, only for Green to pop out again and attack Blue. While fighting off Green, Blue tells Cyan to run ahead and go fix the reactor, which she’ll now have to do all on her own for the first time.

Blue fights off Green as best as he can and Green gives chase to him around the ship. During the fight, Green reveals his motivations. He says that unlike Pink, he still has his human mind because he bonded with the parasite willingly. He explains that the human race is cruel and is casting him aside now that he’s old, and the parasites are valid lifeforms who have just as much if not more of a right to live. After bonding with it, he broke into the cockpit, killed Black, and infected Pink with the second surviving parasite.

Meanwhile in reactor, Cyan is struggling with fixing the reactor alone, since she’s only ever done it before with Blue’s guidance.

After a long fight where he sustains more injuries, Blue is finally able to get Green into the airlock area and tricks him into being stuck there. The airlock door opens, but the monster uses his tentacles to cling to the outside of the ship and crawl around outside it. He climbs on top of the ship and starts heading to the cockpit to try to break back in. The injured Blue struggles to get to weapons, where he mans the turret gun. He turns it around, faces the monster that used to be Green crawling on top of the ship, and blasts him to oblivion. Whatever parts of the monster weren’t blasted off drift off into space. Zero impostors remain.

Cyan successfully fixed the reactor and heads back to see her brother, elated at first but becomes worries when he collapses to the floor from his injuries, clearly dying. She goes to get the medical kit but it’s too late for him, as Green had slashed him across the chest and he’ll be dead from blood loss soon. Cyan cries as her brother dies in her arms.

We cut to some time later. Cyan is completely alone on the ship, which is floating in deep space. She goes to Communications and presses the distress signal, then somberly sits and waits, hoping and praying for rescue but not expecting it.

THE END
