I've started myself a new game in PT and am taking it from the beginning…and slowly.
I've caught and tamed and bread a pair of 1* boar.
EDIT: Tamed boar get a green health bar. Forgot to mention that.
The boar are highly motivated to escape. Both initial boar hug walls hard. Enough so that it took about an in game week to move the 2nd boar from the taming pen to the barn.
I could not push it successfully. Even when I could get between the boar and it's wall in less than 2 meters it was pushing me. Putting food further up the transfer chute did allow some progress and I had to quickly wall off where he came from or loose all progress.
A small 5×5 (10m x 10m) barn hard piggies 6 & 7 born outside the barn walls. I found them wondering between the barn walls and the stockade.
Attempting to get the piglets into the barn let more adults out as they all sensed the open gate and went for it.
Similarly 2 adults made it out the stockade gate when I left it open a hair too long.
Pigs seem to have an eat range of 1-2 meters. This could have implications for farming. I'll let you know as soon as I get copper. (Soon. I've got tin and finally have enough cores to get a smelter up and running.)
Boar seem to need at least 2 layers of containment and maybe 3. I'll try farming 3 plots, one open that the escaped boar could wonder into, 1 fenced with a gate, to see how motivated they are to get into a garden and one totally isolated so I don't loose everything if they are hungry and able to interact with plants/harvest).
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
First I'd like to say I absolutely love this game it's quality. Basically I first…
