Especially those familiar with the real geography of Britain and Ireland, can anyone comment on its accuracy? I've never been in real life, but have seen pictures of some truly gorgeous landscapes. I was hoping that would be replicated in the custom map. Unfortunately, some of the world is taken up by completely garish, impassable mountains that are so steep it's like a cluster of upside-down ice cream cones. What makes it weirder is that some of the map, mostly the eastern British coast up to the Firth of Forth, really is as beautiful as I had hoped for. It makes me think the creator used real-life height data, but scaled down the area to fit a Valheim world, leading to severely exaggerated topography.
Example in the west of Scotland
I guess I'm looking for vikings to share their experiences/opinions if they've played the same custom map, and if there are any recommendations for flat-ish areas good for building. Thanks. 🙂
