I am new to the game and like it. I have bout 30 hours in it and have an asp explorer and about 30 more mil in balance. I was trying mining (it was my main method of making money and that's how I made money's to get the asp explorer), now I tried passenger missions, but I didn't like them and the payout/time spent ratio was bad for me, because 11 jumps from robigo to do this isn't fun (I got no idea who engineers are, how they work and how to use it). I only have the horizons expansion and I was wondering what is the best possible way for me to make space bucks using what I have now.

TLDR: I am relatively new to the game, have asp explorer and about 30 mil in space bucks.
Tried mining and passenger missions, but didn't like being a taxi because 11 jumps from robigo to sothis.
My DLCs are horizons only
Got no idea about engineers and how to use them.

The question is: what is the best possible money making method that is available to me right now with what I have.
(Also if possible, please explain engineers to me. I got absolutely no idea how this mechanic works. I know what it is for, and that's why I wanna know. But goddamn it is Hella complicated)
Also post your favourite methods of making space bucks or engineering and stuff, idk.
