I love playing in public lobbies.
There’s something special about interacting with real people without the need to introduce yourself or go through the awkward acquaintance stage.
There’s something wholesome about people finding friends on Among Us. Although I myself have not found a friend through public lobbies, I find it wholesome to see people coming on reddit to find their new friends after disconnecting.
There’s a something thrilling about going into a lobby without knowing who you are playing with. You get to be exposed to different personalities and thought processes in a short period of time. This reminds me of the quote from Forrest Gump: “My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”
As for cheating and hacking…well it does not bother me too much. I do not condone cheating or hacking. I understand how frustrating it can be. However, from my point of view, it is basically part of the game since Among Us is driven by the mind/behaviour of the players. If a player cheats or hacks, I don’t get mad. Instead, I see it as an indicator that their morals need to be checked.
Of course, you don’t have to agree with me. I don’t see Among Us as a competitive game. This could explain why I don’t mind the public lobbies. I think they are what makes Among Us fun.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
