So I’ve seen several posts on this subject with both the developer of the app stating that BSG gave them a vague go ahead, and also from a couple of users stating that they were banned after using it.
There were also some suggestions that the users who were banned after using the RatScanner may also have been using cheats, and may actually have been the cause for the ban, but who knows?
In my opinion I don’t think an app like RatScanner takes anything good away from the game and alleviates the tedious process of checking prices on the flea or memorizing every item. Memorizing and keeping track of item prices doesn’t seem like a part of the game that adds value to the experience.
But maybe I’m wrong, do people actually enjoy having to look prices up constantly and committing item prices to memory?
I’m sure an argument could be made one way or the other that this app breaks the TOS of the game, but if BSG is ok with the app, than I think a lot of people would use it and enjoy it’s convenient.
Would love for BSG to directly respond to this post and put this matter to rest…
