so i know that reach used to be a mechanic in the past that got removed cuz it sucked, but i think that it would be cool to bring it back with a different ability. what do you think about this?
new keyword: REACH
reach – whenever a special card is played from hand, extend its ability.
for example:
biting frost: reach – spawn frost on an enemy row for 4 turns instead
torrential rain: reach – spawn rain on an enemy row for 4 turns instead
impenetrable fog: reach – spawn fog on an enemy row for 4 turns instead
sandstorm: reach – two enemy rows may be selected instead
ard gaeth: reach – spawn frost on both enemy rows for 4 turns instead
decoy: reach – shuffle an allied unit back into your deck and then play a random unit with the same provision cost
cards like these usually dont see play because they dont have bodies and playing cards like these from hand usually sucks and doesnt provide good value. i think that this would be a good way to get people to consider playing cards like these more often, while at the same time not screwing players with bad mulligans. also yes, i realize that most of these cards dont really have any tags that help them get tutored, so this would have to be a two-pronged solution, i think most of these cards, like decoy for example, should get tags that allow them to be tutored, so that reach can become a proper mechanic. giving decoy the tactic or warfare tag for example, lets you play it with natalis, which thins your deck, OR you can play decoy from hand and get extra points due to the reach ability. what do you think?
