I know I'm supposed to report bugs via launcher, but this isn't a bug report. I just wanna discuss and find out if I'm sane or just tripping. I'm not sure if it is a bug, if it's new or if I'm just tripping hard.
I saw a post from someone else about their FPS starting high, then dropping hard after the first one or two waves of Scav spawns. And then I realized that this is the same thing I experienced the other day. I came back to Tarkov after 4 months of not playing just to burn some of my cash and warm up before the wipe.
My FPS starts out at a solid 180-190 average on Customs and stays that way for the first few minutes. But within 10 minutes or so, it's already averaging 130… And it's not location specific, I checked. Doesn't matter where I am on the map.
This never used to happen. It used to consistently sit around 180-190 through the whole match, so I'm thinking this is fairly new?
It also doesn't happen when I do scav runs which is probably because when I load as a scav, the scav spawns are probably finished due to spawning me later in the match. While on a PMC, you get to experience multiple scav spawns which degrade the performance.
It's already known that scavs decrease performance, because the game runs much better in offline without PvE, but when you enable PvE it drops significantly. But this isn't that because 180-190 fps avg was in online before. So scavs already taken into account. This feels like extra degradation from scav spawns… or maybe there's just more scavs recently on the maps?
Has anyone else experienced this? I certainly saw someone else posting about it here
