I was thinking about the console players and how development has basically shut down for them, and then I started remembering when Odyssey launched and we lost a bunch of Commanders to the increase of computer cabilities required for the update.
Now I'm wondering if when they bring Horizons and Odyssey players together in one universe, with Horizons player just not being able to get out on foot, will the computer requirements go up for for Horizons player? If so, will we not lose more Commanders to this? And wouldn't it be a better idea to keep Horizon in a similar state as it is, seperate but stable?
Extra question for fun, do you think when this happens Horizons players will be able to join in on on-fopt conflict zones by either staying in their ships or deploying their SRV? I doubt it, because it's technically giving them access to content they haven't purchased. On the other hand, if they could participate in the conflict from just a shop, it may help round out and even push for the "sphere of combat" that Fdev have mentioned in the past.
Edit: Sorry for starting any confusion, but I found the post where they mentioned it:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/horizons-odyssey-compatibility.574677
And they DO say that it's "in line with console release", which we know isn't happening. So I guess the real question is if they still plan on this merger and graphical update to Odyssey?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
