Ok, so I bought Odyssey on day 1. And it's been a buggy ride, but updates have helped somewhat.
I like it. I have been enjoying the diversion from the space game to on-foot gameplay, buggy as the road has been. It's something different.
But it's now completed as far as I can tell. I've managed to G5 every suit (and an extra 'stealth' maverick suit) and every weapon (plus stealth variations) and fully modded them all. So now, I don't need any on-foot materials. So what's the point of doing more on-foot missions…
Because on-foot mission payout is meagre by comparison to ship based missions, with the single exception of surface based conflict zones, what's left to do?
As far as I can see… my Odyssey journey is complete and now there is just one benefit – the option to do surface conflict zones to make a half-decent profit as an alternative to the ship based activities.
Plus the option to do a couple of heist missions or whatnot for peanuts… and the fun of it I guess. But for peanuts. For the love of God Frontier, make the missions in Odyssey pay something decent.
Without far better payouts, ship interiors or even being able to go to the bar and buying a drink and parking it on a barstool after a night of 'work', with a mate especially, there's really very little connection with the space based side of things.
Is it worth it? Just. But ultimately, Elite is a space game and that's what Elite players love most. Odyssey is little more than an FPS diversion currently, but it has potential.
o7 Commanders!
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
First I'd like to say I absolutely love this game it's quality. Basically I first…
