On why Renfri and current design is bad not only for the current meta but also for future iterations of the game

I wonder, how do you even "nerf" a card like Renfri that will always be as strong as your best non devotion units?

Do we really want to keep a card that extremely limits the design of new ones?

Consider this, it's unlikely that CDPR is going to fix the mess brought with the last few patches, that would require either a broad nerf to all power crept cards (but that would ruin the *fun*) or a broad buff to pretty much 80% of the existing roster.

What is more likely and what should be done in the stupid opinion of someone who has thousands of matches and has played this game every single day since the release are two things.

1] Rework Renfri, at the very least we need something to stop her from abusing red coin by randomly throwing the leader ability. She should perhaps be an actual leader ability, a neutral one with a fixed provision that can be used with whichever faction you prefer. Or just delete her entirely and forgot she ever existed, genuinely that would be better. It was a lovely idea but it doesn't fit the way CDPR wants to develop the game.

I mean nerfing Imprisonment and Guerrilla Tactics was wrong beyond any possible level. CDPR here clearly understands the issue (people just play Renfri with the best provision/midrange ability combo) but refuses to address it directly. It confuses me so much it's unreal, I legitimately had to watch the patch notes video twice to make sure I was getting this right.

And sure, Spotter, Nauzicaa, Triss, all these cards deserve a rightful nerf but first and foremost we need a way to stop midrange decks from being so strong and reliable.

2] Focus on synergy, cards can reach insane value (thus, keeping the *fun*) but make sure they can do so under specific archetype conditions. I don't mind a card like Golden Child, sure it's insane but it requires you to play a specific package.

Point slam cards with no requirements whatsoever are not ok, again I can somewhat be okay with a card like Fucusya but give it devotion so I can't randomly roll her while playin Golden Nekker Compass. And sure, focusing too much on devotion can make binary deck live Kelly too strong, hence why synergy may be the best solution here.

This game can be *fun* AND balanced at the same time. We had such a beautiful game a couple of patches ago, let's reconsider a few things and go back while we can. I sincerely love this game, all the criticism is because I (we?) want Gwent to last and succeed. No other card game is like Gwent, you guys at CDPR have done an amazing job but it's time to listen to the feedback.
