First off, I'd like to preface by saying I was expecting disappointment, but not like this. I knew we weren't getting BP today but was excited to see a timeframe. Being told "later this year" with no specific timeframe is honestly just lazy and inexcusable. I personally think that BP is nowhere near done judging by the zero timeframe specification. This isn't to hate on the devs or Valve in particular, but I am trying to see their reasoning or perspective and I fail to do so. I don't understand how this is a good decision by Valve. Literally, one of the most anticipated events of the Dota calendar is being delayed.
For the people defending Valves' excuses, do you really think there would be a difference between releasing it now and in 2 months? (assuming an August release). After this disappointing announcement, most players will just be demotivated to play.
The meta/gameplay is too stale to make announcements like this in hopes of retaining "excitement" and player population.
So much for the patch too, such disappointing changes. Half the features added don't even function properly. Sad to see a game with such potential be treated like this.
Interested to read your thoughts. Thanks fellas.
