If anyone is interested in getting the Orthrus Samples, this Orca will do the job beautifuly: https://s.orbis.zone/lpw3 – it took me some trial and error to come up with an effective build for this task, but with the above it is fairly easy once you know what you're doing.

How to do it:

1. Go to any Thargoid Alert system (look in system state filter on the map around the maelstroms).

2. Search for NHSS Threat 4.

3. Once you drop in, there will be either a Thargoid Probe or nothing. After a short while the Orthrus will drop in.

4. If there is a probe in the instance, it will grab it and then try to jump out. If there is nothing, it will drop Thargoid Sensor.

5. Either way, once you hear the anomaly message, turn on Silent Running. The build I provided can easily be in SR throughout the whole attempt, but you'll need to drop a few heatsinks.

6. Be vigiliant and immediately steer your ship BEHIND the interceptor, while launching all of the Research Probes at it. Be aware of the caustic trail it leaves!

7. Keep behind it, until it notices you (because it inevitably will) and once it does, get in front of it, so it is more difficult for it to jump out then – and you do need enough time for the your limpets to rip out its biomechanical flesh samples.

8. WATCH FOR THE PULSE! Use the neutraliser to prevent it! Otherwise you'll fail. Also watch for the caustic damage.

9. When the probes finish the job, ignore the interceptor and wait for them to deliver the samples. You will probably be under attack by the reinforcements it called AND have caustic damage eating away your hull, so use the decontamination and repair limpets and then just escape.

The ship I designed for this can easily withstand all of that. I only lost 30% of hull on my first successful trial, which wasn't the prettiest. So there was still plenty room for mistakes. I managed to get 3 samples AND the sensor it's left behind.
