This isn't so much a rant as it is about asking CDPR to change their attitude towards fixing newly released cards. The month of May was a perfect storm for Gwent, very similar to the month Thanedd Coup released.
The new cards were way out of balance, no new balance changes at all, and to add salt to the injury, Marvel Snap was released. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong.
And CDPR has no one else to blame but themselves. They have a bad habit of holding back on changes to cards that were just released, only changing them by a provision or two. This strategy has hurt them several times before and yet they remained adamant. It was only a matter of time a disaster like this would creep up and hurt them. This has to change. It would much better strategy (in my opinion) to nerf the overpowered card and then buff it in subsequent patches.
However, the biggest thing that hurt the game was the barebones balance changes it got. Apart from hitting Dwarves pretty hard, the changes were so few, they added nothing to the meta. Leaving it in a worst state than before.
I hope we never see such a patch again, at least not so close to a new release. Let's hope Patch 10.6 pushes Gwent in a positive direction.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
