I want to preface this post by saying that I'm not legitimately suggesting this, and just want to hear the community's thoughts on a mechanic like this.
So I've thought about tarkov implementing a perk system like wasteland 3's. For those who haven't played the game, they had special abilities or unique buffs that you could unlock with a perk point after leveling up a specific skill enough. Perk points were earned at certain level milestones, making their usage important due to the limited supply. What this would mean for tarkov is either instead of or on top of the gradual stat buffs you would be able to unlock special, noticeable, and impactful upgrades. as an example take leveling up perception; after getting perception to a certain level you are allowed to unlock a perk called "focus," with this perk if you stay completely still for 3 seconds your hearing will be increased decently. For another example, let's take leveling up endurance; after reaching a certain level you are allowed to unlock a perk called "second wind," with this perk you can activate an ability to gain a boost in stamina for a short while. After usage, the perk will be on a cooldown or unusable for the rest of the raid. The main reason to do something like this is to make the RPG leveling system more fleshed out with a new unique leveling mechanic that is noticeable and special to the player's style.
Again i want to say I'm not saying the devs should do this (that would be a crazy and large shift in direction), but i wanted to hear the community's thoughts on a mechanic like this.
