After learning my lesson by heading into the mountain with iron armor and a bronze buckler and getting destroyed by wolves, I got myself a fully upgraded serpent shield and serpent stew + onion soup + deer stew and the wolves became puppies. I was even tanking the golems head on.
Cleared mountains, got fully upgraded silver armor + silver shield and the plains were no challenge at all. Headed there with serpent stew + wolf skewer + eyescream + antipoison and everything just dropped dead without a lot of effort. Only those giant goblins took a bit long to kill but nothing bow and arrows can't handle. Those giant buffalo are adorable.
After reading a lot of people mention how hard the plains are, I was expecting a lot lot more. I guess many players just go there unprepared?
