Poor graphics quality in VR

So…I've been playing ED on and off since it came out, in recent memory using the Oculus Quest.
Now I stopped playing a bit before Odyssey came out and reinstalled over the holidays and now im stuck with gfx, especially on planet surfaces and stations that would put the early 2000s to shame.

case in point, this screenshot approaching a planetary base.
Weird thing is, nothing has changed on my end and the graphics were vastly different the last time i fired up before odyssey. Now I dont actually own Odyssey(and have no intetion of getting it) but is this something that was introduced with a recent update ? I have my settings at "VR Ultra" and now matter how far I crank them up these surfaces stay the same.

Odd thing, If i turn up HMD to its hightest setting thee tiles that are visible here become a lot worse…it almost looks like early 2000s voxel gfx … really am at a loss here on how to improve this…approaching large stations and planets right now just makes me want to vomit because its so ugly
