Pre-deployment Mental Checklist: HEAL

I’m sure I’m not the only one that has blown right through the low health warning that displays below your PMC after a death. So I’ve been trying to slow down a bit and come up with a way to remind myself to check that I’m properly ready for the next raid.

HEAL is an acronym for a simple pre-deployment checklist I’ve been using before going into raids. It’s helped me make sure I’ve got my PMC properly prepared before joining a raid. It’s similar to what I do before I leave my house IRL to ensure I’ve got my wallet, keys, phone, etc.

Before I join a raid I quickly check my:

  • Health
  • Energy
  • Armor
  • Loadout

If I need to heal, eat/drink, repair armor, add ammo/meds/provisions, HEAL makes sure I don’t go into a raid unprepared. Yes, it’s cheesy, but it takes two seconds to check and it has quickly become a habit at this point which is what I was hoping for. Anyway, just something that helped me and I thought it might help someone else.
