I would love your thoughts on this idea:
Starting rank 5, three of your opponents’ leader skills (each attached to a deck of course and each of a different faction) are revealed to you. Then, the coin toss determines who starts to choose a leader ability of the opponent. Let’s say the opponent won the coin toss: The opponent chooses a leader ability they would like to play with, then it’s your turn to choose a good matchup for their chosen ability. Then you start by picking an ability and your opponent chooses second. The last matchup are the remaining abilities/decks. Randomly one matchup is picked and played out.
I think there is a certain necessity for a new matchup system.
First, you should be good with a lot of factions if you want to participate in pro rank.
Second, I absolutely hate going against the perfect matchup to my deck and I have the feeling these happen suspiciously often when I have had a winning streak (some factions you rarely ever play against with some of your decks, think about it…).
Third, you can‘t play the same deck to get into pro rank anymore and the meta might get more diverse…
Could be a crap idea, but I love the thought that alternatives could be implemented if the devs wanted it.
Similar to Overwatch where they implemented fixed roles in quick play some while back.
Soldiers decks right now are Gwent‘s Hanzo/Widow spams back when they didn’t have fixed roles in OW
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
