So I have run a couple servers for valheim in the past and never had any issues. I threw up a Valhost server since it was recommended here on another post and it was incredibly simple and cheap but after an hour or so of playing it started to become apparent that something was off. We had four total players online. I'm in Atlanta and our server was in NC. I'm on fiber and was the first person to login (which in their documentation says sets the bar for speed?). We all started to get the connection icon in the left top corner and probably once an hour it would disconnect everyone. I got a hold of support and their response was "any connection issues are going to be the fault of the client / your internet connection". No problem. I waited a day and came back to see if there were any issues and yeah, same old story. I got back on chat support and they claimed it was valheim's p2p style connection they used and assured me switching to another server provider wouldn't change the issues. I politely requested a refund and switched to another server host and what do you know? No issues. Just wanted to put it out there for anyone considering setting up a server. I may have had an isolated issue but from their responses it seems they implied they get the same issue a lot. Definitely not trying to bash the company in any way but they should probably figure out what the issue is and educate their support staff on how to deal with it because what they were saying just isn't true.
