I got the base game from Epic for free a while back and played for a few weeks straight. I got excited about the news for on foot combat and stuff, but by that point I had stopped playing. And then after it came out I just saw a lot of negative stuff about it, on top of it being like $40 to get it.
And now I'm considering redownloading the game to play some more and I saw that Odyssey is currently on sale for about $20 which seems much more reasonable, but I'm wondering what, if any, improvements have been made to it since it came out? How will I be impacted if I decide to get back into the game without the DLC? I vaguely know what it adds, and that I won't have on foot stuff without it, but will the fact of not having it be thrown in my face a lot by seeing missions or stuff I can't get to while playing the base game? Because that would ruin a lot of the fun, even if it's still bad content, to be reminded of it constantly. Or is it worth picking up these days for that price?
