The following is a comment I made in another thread, but since people keep missing that this is simply a copy paste mistake and there are a lot of remnants of the site assets used to quickly create the Halloween 3308 event, I have decided to just make this comment into a top level post.

This information has been confirmed by multiple individuals as simply being remnants of the assets being reused to create these locations for the event. This is being posted to help prevent people from chasing red herrings that aren't even related to the 3308 Murder Mystery.

The Whispers at Vardey are just part of the copy/pasting of the asset that is there. They are from Extraction Site HS-98.

You'll notice that the site layout is exactly the same and when you check your Codex > Commander > Archive you'll see you didn't get the logs for "The Accused" you got the logs for "Team 84".

The same is true of the second planet at Goddard Mill. You get the logs from Site 16 "Secrets & Lies".

Essentially, the "whispers" you hear at Vardey are definitely there, but they are part of the Team 84 story from ~2018 not the current Halloween event.

Now this doesn't mean "Fdev bad" and "Ugh another bug". They just simply copy pasted an asset to make a quick even and overwrote the messages you get in your inbox, but forgot to remove the atmospheric whispers that are part of that story and forgot to change the messages stored in your archive.

There are more Whispers at the Team 84 site than the one that is recorded on the Canonn website, but all of the whispers you can hear at Extraction Site HS-98 are the same ones you hear at Vardey Prospecting.

It certainly adds to the intrigue of this Halloween Mystery, but they are not in any way related and can be disregarded as far as any theory crafting.
