Return after a 7 year hiatus, This was my experience

I needed to write of my experience coming back to the game after sooo long. Looking at my ingame account you might mistake me as a veteran, because I bought the game when it first came out in 2014. I remember trying out a little of everything, combat, trading, and what I fell in love with the most, exploration. at the time there was no other gaming experience like it. So I set my eyes on the diamond Back Scout as my ship to explore the great unknown.

What I remember is looking at the options of available ships, and setting a modest goal. and I remember grinding out low level courier missions for about 30k each. This is what I remember the ingame economy to be like. Sure every one talked about how the ASPX was the definitive ship for exploring but to me the 6+ mill needed was very endgame, it boggled my mind to even look at something like the Corvette. So I traded back and fourth and finally got the ship I wanted with a decent beginners loadout and… eventually never really came back to the game, life and such.

Fast-forward to last week. I was watching some Star Citizen news and got a massive nostalgia trip for ED. So I logged back in (had to redo the tutorial), thought it was blasphemous that there was now an auto dock (though I was extremely grateful for it XD), and there I was, back in the ship I remember working so hard for. I immediately sold it for a Cobra 3 so I could have some meager credits to my name, and I knew it was a decent ship for relearning the game. I jumped around some systems to get some outfitting, sold the Cartographies from the short trip, and BAM 1+mill credits.

Wait, what?

Ok, so with it I got the best fuel Scoop the Cobra could take and decided to go to the Witchhead nebula (which is gated for some reason??) so I diverted to the California nebula, honking all the way. Came back to civilization, cashed out and Cha-Ching, 18+ mill credits.

There I was after 2 days of relearning the game, I was now sitting in my own ASPX, the ship I had dreamed about years ago.

And it didn't stop. I learned of something called the "road to riches", followed that with all the scanners, and yesterday traded in for a Krait Phantom. I spent the afternoon trying my hand at mining, and realized by the end of the week I'll probably be sitting in a Python. What was once a far off dream was a reality even while bumbling my way through learning new systems.

tl;dr, When did the ASPX become a starter ship??

PS. I've died once, wanna know how? I tried a passenger mission, little did I know that there could be criminals as passengers. They wanted me to stop for beer, but when the station scanned my entry, they saw the passenger and shot me down. Soooo if you ever feel like a sup par commander remember, I managed to die on what might be the most peaceful mission type.

Cheers Commanders o7
