Important Findings – All full-autos have a less than 5% difference from their displayed RPM vs. their "true RPM" (25-45 RPM discrepancy). Guns sharing the same displayed RPM also share the same "true RPM," i.e. all guns with a 650 displayed RPM really shoot at ~625 RPM. Lastly, All semi-autos shoot at either 450 or 600 RPM with a few exceptions.
How I conducted my tests: These tests were conducted on 80 capped FPS (I had more consistent results and surprisingly faster-recorded fire rates) using this formula: "RPM = (60 / (Time to unload mag / (Shots fired – 1))." Using an M4A1 as an example, the 3 sprays had times of 4:36 (4:600), 4:36 (4:600), and 4:35 (4:583) (averages out to 4:594). With my shots fired minus 1, I'd plug it into the formula, RPM =(60 / (4:594 / 59)), RPM = 770.57, I just rounded this number to what I thought made sense. The "true RPM" popular weapons in my opinion, as well as bolt-actions:
Bolt Actions:
All 12 Gauge pump shotguns seem to shoot at the same RPM of 69, all pistols shoot anywhere from 450-470 RPM with the exception of the TT and M1911 / M45A1 at 360 RPM.
I hope this helps in some way.
