Rune Bear Mistlands Concept

Given we haven’t seen a large enemy for the mistlands yet, I had an idea for one that would fit the aesthetic very well and add lots of variety.

The rune bear.

This enemy would be a very large bear with runes written on its front and back. These runes however would be differently colored based on this rune bear’s specific damage type.

If it were a green rune bear, it’s attacks would deal poison damage. If red, fire. If blue, frost.

I also would add a purple rune bear with a new status effect called torpidity.

Torpidity – slows stamina regeneration for every stack of torpidity on the unit, if this unit reaches 0 stamina, it will fall asleep and wake when attacked by an enemy or after their stamina bar fully regenerates.

Given the fact that mushrooms are being added, they could be ingredients to making torpidity resistance and weapons that could inflict it. I know enemies don’t have stamina like the player so it would probably need to work a little differently against them.

Also, the bears would have different weaknesses and resistances based on their color. Red resistant to frost, blue weak to fire etc.

Thoughts on this?
