Recently I've been missing the feeling of flying my super cool spaceship all over the galaxy, going on mining expeditions, hauling freight, hunting baddies, and just generally wanting get back into the cockpit.
Thing is, I've haven't played ED in a few years at this point, and I stopped back then because it got a bit monotonous and moved on to more engaging games. When Odyssey came out I held off because of how bad I heard the Odyssey launch was. While I do want to play around with Odyssey, walking around and ground missions and such, I'm now hearing about the instance split with 4.0 and no release date on it, and am just weary on buying Odyssey right now, but also weary about just playing in horizons again. Since I'm not active in the game anymore I really don't know what all this means in terms of content and the play-ability of the game in its current state.
Will the game be fun if I come back? Should I go through the effort of dusting off my flight sticks, reattaching all the mounting equipment to my computer desk, and hopping back in? Should I buy Odyssey, or just stick to horizons for now? Or will I get bored and/or frustrated with the state of the game after a day and have it all turn out to be a waste of time and should've kept waiting?
I'd love to hear what you other CMDR's think about the current state of the game and if you think it's worth coming back to.
