I’ve got a ton of hours in Valheim and am subsequently a big fan of the game. I do have a few criticisms or ways that I believe the game could be improved.
As the title suggests one of the issues is the accumulation of materials like eyeballs or bone shards that have a limited purpose and end up cluttering or eventually being obliterated for a few pieces of coal.
I had the thought a while ago that a “shrine” building set could mitigate the problem with certain totems/idols of the norse pantheon being able to consume materials in return for a timed player buff or power. Make the shrines expensive to construct so there’s no temptation to cover the map with them (portals suffer this problem imo).
The mechanics are already in the game. It could be something as simple as an armor buff or speed, something that could be combined with one of the stone powers to enhance it.
Anyhow- thought I’d put it out there and see if anyone had similar thoughts or ideas.
