In short, I’d like to know how those of you who’ve made it to pro since the new season began (congrats btw!) managed to do so. This is a real question. No judgment from me and I’d appreciate if there was no judgment from commenters.
Did you have to make any changes to your deck in the last few ranks to counter the current meta? We’re you using a home brew or did you use a top tier deck? Did you have to add more control/tall punishment? Etc…
I’m currently rank 2 and I’m pretty frustrated. Gwent is my first game of its kind and I didn’t even know what a netdeck was when I started so my decks are my own creation and they’ve gotten me this far but I’ve hit a brick wall. My bf (who doesn’t play Gwent but has played CCGs in the past) is tired of hearing me complain and is now of the “if you can’t beat ‘em, join em” mindset but I would be pretty bummed to have to put my decks aside for the next two ranks. And I’m not even sure that would solve my problem. I have a good win rate against the decks on the recent report. I just struggle against the greedy meme decks that seem so prevalent lately. Every time I’m close to ranking up, I queue into a gerni deck or some such.
A compromise could be adding more tall punishment or control but I feel like that would be contributing to the problem the recent greedy metas have caused as well.
So I thought I’d see what others’ experiences has been. Did you guys have to make hard compromises in upper ranks or were you able to power through with no changes?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
