So I saw Odyssey was on sale, and I decided, fuck it, I'm about to hit 200 hours of Elite, it would be nice to land on a few extra planets, even if that's the only thing it adds. Wow was I wrong. When I last played, I was kicked off for a server restart for powerplay. Last night I bought Odyssey, and today I logged back in. I immediately noticed a few things. For one, the UI was different. It's not bad, or good, just different. And like, why? Why change a UI players have been using for YEARS, not for improvements, literally just to make it different.
Also, I noticed that my FPS was lower and am I crazy or is the anti-aliasing in Odyssey worse?? And the lighting seems way out of whack, things are way too bright, this is Elite Dangerous, not NMS. (Though I love both). I missed the launch of Odyssey so I guess I missed all this stuff, but I didn't think Odyssey would have straight up worse graphics and lighting.
Is Odyssey seriously this bad? Are the new planet types you can land on at least a little bit cool? My expectations were low but I STILL feel disappointed.
