Some questions about a long-term trip

I’m at the point in the game rn where I’m considering going far out or something, idk. Might be fun, maybe visit a nebula or some neutron stars. Or go on the something-something highway thing

I’ve found doing system and surface scans to be extremely lucrative at least compared to the bucks I was making before. But I was wondering why exactly everyone was interested in data they already (probably) possess. Will it be worth more if it’s truly new?

Either way, what are some things I should keep in mind if I’m planning to do something like this?

Also – what’s a good jump range? Right now I’m at 30Ly on ASP Explorer which is probably not that great but I can get it much higher if I went to some engineers and also fitted lighter modules.

Also how many repair limpets should I bring? Because more limpets is less jump. Should I use an auto-field maintenance module or just not bother to save weight? Should I use TWO AFM modules or something? More repairs… I mean i can’t imagine I can get damaged much without great negligence but maybe it’ll happen
