Coming off of this excellent summary of the current lore event going on — let us begin by acknowledging that her situation, by any measure, absolutely sucks. Kidnapped, experimented on, hooked into an alien hive mind without her consent – only to now face the threat of being drafted into a war she wants no part of as a human weapon. That's more than enough to push anyone over the edge.
But still. How many hundreds of people — on both sides — do you figure died just while she and Tanner were having that conversation? How many of those could've been avoided if she'd just agreed to work with Aegis to help us even begin to understand the Thargoids and how they think?
Not that it isn't totally on brand for humanity to be divided by selfish interests at the worst possible times. I swear — first we get Salvation and his ego, deliberately hampering our collective knowledge of the Thargoids for years just so he can indulge his own Messiah complex. Now we've got Seo rushing off half-cocked on her own selfish mission of revenge, right when she's our only way to figure out what the Thargoids are thinking. Figures.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
