I've been looking into these two systems for the past week or so trying to figure out which is the overall better package for this game. Each have their own compelling features and sorta unpleasant downsides to them.
My gut is to go with an x52 pro since it's modelled after the cockpit flight controls in elite and my goal here is to play in vr so I feel like that could be huge for immersion. But it also costs a fair bit more than the t.16k and if I'd want them to be priced similarly I'd have to get a used one. I'm also not sure how competent of a system it is outside of elite like in dcs which I'm also really interested in. I also hear that at least back in the day there were a lot of DOA cases tho I'm not sure if logi has fixed that in recent years.
I hear a lot of good things about the t.16k system, the throttle looks like it has a lot of inputs that would be good to have and the sensors should be really good, but the stick controls are kinda lacking and even tho it has 2x the base buttons of the x52 idk how much I wanna be fumbling around in vr to reach them. I also read a lot of cases of the slew stick having some nasty durability issues and the throttle being really sticky without doing internal modifications to use linear bearings instead of the stock plastic slider. I also think it's a bit ugly which is entirely a non issue especially for vr but I still feel like a lot of the draw I feel for the x52 is just that it looks cool and mirrors the ingame controls.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
