Main focus of development: (I'll edit with every new item):

  • Hideout Weapon Stand
  • Dynamic Box/Stashes spawn
  • Unity 2021 (sounds like they really plan to use URP to "update graphics")
    • The update to Unity2021 will make cheat makers jobs "almost impossible", Nikita said
    • With it will come a better implementation of the current anticheat, it's been worked at with Battleye.
  • Drastic changes on player sync technology, which will mean a lot better performance in every single map and will allow 60 players without dropping FPS, will also reduce "traffic" (probably meaning less desync)
    • 60 players have already been tested and it actually works, more is actually doable
    • They will make a video showing the FPS drop, Nikita is VERY CONFIDENT about the FPS not dropping (or being a negligible drop) with number of players
  • Total recoil rework, with changes to the auto-compensation system
  • Streets boss coming
    • he will basically have his own armored fort, Nikita compared it to the water-treatment of Lighthouse
  • Vaulting System is being worked on, Nikita had a video but didn't want to show it because animations are a bit rough, the system itself is almost done, changed his mind, video was shown
  • Animation rework:
    • Blindfire
    • Shoulder swapping
    • A lot other animations are being reworked
  • SOUND:
    • Second iteration of fixes
    • Optimization of the algo
    • Sound defraction
    • Combine current system with geometry baking
    • Shading of indoor vs outdoor sounds, not a binary switch anymore
    • Fix sound stutter
  • New silencer durability mechanic
    • sound, accuracy and visual changes based on durability (and maybe quality of silencer aswell?)
  • First Streets of Tarkov Expansion almost ready, FPS WILL NOT be an issue because of changes announced.

  • BIG focus on technical changes in a future patch that may come around May
    • REWRITE OF "CORE GAME", re-writing old code instead of fixing old codebase:
    • Improve hitreg and positional accuracy of players
    • Object culling (don't render stuff behind other objects), already working on Streets (and Lighthouse ?). THIS WAS SHOWN ALREADY WORKING!
    • LOD Management Changes
    • Memory consumption/Memory Leak fixes and changes
    • Glass Shader optimization, apparently a big deal
