I spawned and at first felt a tad disoriented by the art style, finding that the boar, deer, necks, and greylings were not only extremely dangerous (smh, what did I know) but also blended into the landscape so well.
I remember trying desperately to figure out the building mechanics before sundown. I scrambled to build a workbench and shelter before nightfall. Spent so much time on this + running from greylings (I know, I know) that I didn't have time to gather stones before dark. I spent my first night sitting in a small fireless shack with terrible roof-work listening to the storm and the "mysterious" creatures that could be out at night.
I died like 4 times the first day. Took me 15 days in-game to decide that I'm not too attached to my home area. Built a raft to search for pastures new, landed in a beautiful patch of Meadow adjacent a spooky looking forest, and the rest is history.
