I started getting heavily into evacuating stations under attack and haven't seen a focused enough discussion on what ships we're using, what our goal ships are (upgrades), and what we're seeing out there.
I started with this after about a week of theorycrafting with a bud – https://s.orbis.zone/l6bu. It's an ~11m credit build, and even without engineering can do the job for a starter pilot. Though with engineering (farseer only) you can easily outrun any 'diction and not even get scratched. She also runs so cold, you're hard to hit and can sit on top of stars for refuel. Big downside – small fuel tank. Fuel scoop is not optional, and the module size limits require you to sacrifice big passenger slots for a nice scoop, or to settle with a puny scoop.
I used my funds to upgrade to this Type-7 Transport https://s.orbis.zone/l6bw. Big upside – can fit sooo many more passengers. Downside – I get caught every 'diction. Shields offline almost every time, and sometimes even a few % of hull. Haven't had a rebuy though (yet), and the BIG gain in passenger room makes up for any repairs/restocks of my furious heatsink deploying.
Though I'm not sure what to shoot for as my next ship. Thinking an Anaconda like this (as my faction ranks are laughable at best) – https://s.orbis.zone/l6bz. Though I feel like at this point I'm getting so slow that I may need to work on getting G5 Dirty Drives.
What do you guys think? What are you running to do evacs? Are you getting blown up a lot? Interested to hear what everyone is doing out there.
