I find it interesting that we spend money to buy ship skins and suit skins when the game doesn't have a 3rd person gameplay camera.
If you watch a lot of Elite YouTubers, they usually fill the void of discussion with random ships of them flying around stars, planets, asteroids, bases, etc. I usually think "that ship looks pretty cool", then I remind myself that I don't usually see my ships all that often. I usually only see the outside of them in the hangar bay and I don't go out of my way very often to use the 3rd person vanity camera since it (A) Doesn't show any ship information and (B) doesn't have a default 3rd person angle that shows where you are headed without using the free cam and making the angle yourself.
I just think it's weird, that after all these years of playing this game, the money I've spent on paid cosmetics, that I don't ever really get to see them in action.
Am I suggesting that we should have a usable 3rd person gameplay camera? Maybe? I think it could be limited to Private Groups and Solo since it would give a tactical advantage to PvP in Open. Maybe it would have to be a module you would have to fit to make it fit in with the lore, kind of like a Camera Limpet that follows your ship.
I think that there is a chance FDEV could sell more paint jobs and suit skins, etc, if we could actually see them while actually playing the game instead of only while docked or playing with the vanity camera.
Just a random thought
