I saw TeaGuvnor's tweet posted here about boycotting Russian organizations and I'm wondering, again:
Why do we have a Dota 2 MAJOR being organized by a Saudi Arabian owned company? ESL and Dreamhack are organizing official Dota 2 tournaments and both were bought by SGG, a Saudi Arabian front for reputation laundering through Esports.
Also, if that doesn't interest you, Saudis are now backing Russia indirectly through upholding the OPEC+ deal, in which they keep Russia in OPEC and Saudis themselves earn big since the barrel is getting pricier and pricier after the invasion.
On Epicenter, it's clear they shouldn't work on Dota 2 if they don't have the autonomy to even merely condemn an invasion against international law. If they don't uphold it even in discourse, what guarantees are there that those events will actually pay athletes and fulfill obligations?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
