First off, this is not a post discussing if the new or old techies is a viable or good hero. At this point they might as well be two different heroes. The new one is a more normal run of the mill mid laner and the old one was a unique hero who belonged in DOTA.
Yes, techies is now a less frustrating, more orthodox and competitively viable hero who can push lanes, gank or farm like other heroes do in the game, but that wasn't the point of techies. Techies has always been the master of traps and mind games who gave your enemies anxiety. The complete removal of both green mines and stasis traps basically makes techies a normal hero who's ult nuke happens to be in the form of mines.
While I agree that the green mines definitely needed changing in some way to prevent areas of the map being completely inaccessible without spending a lot on detection, I feel like the removal of both the stacking of mines and stasis trap just kills the hero's uniqueness. He is just another annoying mid laner now who has a nuke, silence and disarm. Not techies anymore. It would have been nice to have been able to either stack mines or gain stasis traps from aghs/shard so that you could still set up traps.
The entire point of picking techies was that you could place traps around the map, and now you can't do it anymore. Devs, if you're reading this please rework him once more and bring back that aspect of techies in some way.
